THE TRAINING CENTRE IN THE ABIDJAN BAKERY

"Only employment can beat poverty," Jean-Claude Mimran

The GMA understood early on that staff training is the key to success in the baking industry. That’s why in 1997, they created a bakery training centre, located on the premises of GMA. This training center is equipped with all the latest equipment necessary for the profession. It is also recognized and approved by the FDFP. (Federation of Professional Training)

Each year, the GMA Training Center receives about one hundred students. They are mainly bakery personnel that come to develop and strengthen their business knowledge. The center also welcomes youths, who have training to teach them the basics of baking. 93% of trainees who were trained at the training center are currently working in the industry. These bakers are the pride of the whole Ivorian baking industry.

THE TRAINING CENTER IN THE DAKAR BAKERY

Created by the Grand Moulins of Dakar in 2008, with German Cooperation and located in the premises of the GMD, the center provides training entirely free of charge to professional craftsmen and apprentices bakers and also to young Senegalese who wish to work in the industry. Besides its impact on employment, it contributes to the improvement of hygiene and quality in bread making.

More than 300 people have already benefited from these free training courses. The center also holds specialized courses for apprentices or refresher days for bakery employees. It also plans to have a sub-regional vocation in the medium term.
